Why e-mail marketing should be part of your 2009 budget

With today’s marketers focused on efficienty and rate of return, e-mail marketing remains a strong marketing channel second only to direct mail and Internet marketing. DMA found that the majority of marketers continue to invest in e-mail marketing.
In fact, 57% of today’s marketers have increased their e-mail marketing budgets for 2009. On average e-mail marketing now represents 12.6% of marketers’ budgets.

Top 500 Internet retailers report big gains in 2008
Posted on February 26th, 2009 No commentsWe’ve been talking for some time now about the amazing, on-going growth being experienced by our clients and other Internet retailers, and a new report from InternetRetailer.com confirms this good news with some great new statistics.
The Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide is still being compiled for 2009, but the 30% of companies who have already shared their results for 2008. The results are astonishing. So far, 151 companies have seen their online sales grow by 20.7% for a grand total of $36.79 billion in 2008 as compared to $30.48 billion the previous year.
Web-only retailers continue to be the fastest growing channel, reporting combined sales of $27.94 billion, up 24% from sales of $22.53 billion. Amazon dominates the web-only merchant channel and the combined e-commerce sales to date for all online exclusive retailers with annual web sales that grew by 29% to $19.17 billion in 2008.
Even without Amazon, the combined web sales of the remaining Top 500 retailers grew by 12.3% in 2008 to $17.59 billion from $15.66 billion in 2007.
