Affiliate marketing spending will continue to increase at an annual rate of 13% between now and 2012, when it will reach $3.3 billion, according to a new study publishing by Jupiter Research.

The study "U.S. Online Affiliate Marketing Forecast, 2007 to 2012" based these forecasts on revenue earned by affiliates and affiliate networks. Affiliate marketing spending now accounts for 9% of total online ad spending. According to the new study, this is expected to remain steady through 2012.
