May 2005 - The Inside Track Affiliate News
Dear Partner,
In the News!
Looking back in 2005, we can definitely see this campaigns positive growth. 21st's monthly EPC has increased each month since January. This also means that each click you have sent in to us has been worth more -- not just to us, but also to you in terms of revenue for your companies. Since October our EPC has increased by over 54%. Not only that --it continues to increase each month!
Two factors have contributed to this phenomenal growth. The first factor is your hard work in promoting this extraordinary campaign. The second factor is 21st's dedication to giving this affiliate program everything it needs to succeed. Using various methods, 21st has been working hard for you, doing such things as changing the Equote skin and refining the terms of the program itself so that affiliates can earn more money with growth. Looking back at 2004 and the beginning of 2005, we can definitely see positive growth that this campaign has seen. Our EPC has grown by 100 percent to reach more then $100 (wow!) and our conversion percentage has increased by more than 5%.
21st would like to announce a small change to it's PPC policy regarding it's branded keywords.
Effective immediately, affiliates cannot receive a higher placement then the 21st official site placement within any PPC vertical. Affiliates are also not allowed to bid above the $.35 amount within any PPC vertical.
This effects only 21st branded search terms such as:
For a more in-depth list of 21st branded terms please email Dan@partnercentric.com.
Affiliates in breach of this policy will receive an email warning. If you do not reduce your PPC bids or placement after receiving the warning you will receive a final warning. If you do not respond to the final warning, we will remove you from the 21st program.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding this new affiliate policy. As always 21st appreciate your input on all parts of our program. I can be reached at dan@partnercentric.com.
In this tip section we will be exploring web page design and some quick Do's and Dont's. It is extremely important when building your webpage to think about the end-user's experience when using your site. You're affiliate links are the places you want to drive this traffic towards. Is it easy to find those links? Is it clear what the user must do in order to move on? How many pages do they need to go through before finding what they want? These are all things to consider when building a site.
DO'S
- Add as much content as you can. This will help educate the user on the
product and increase your search engine rankings. Write original text and use
articles that are public domain.
- Make it easy for your users to find the links you want them to see.
This means mark them clearly "click here for ..." and don't make
them go through layers and layers of pages before the link is presented.
- Build your webpage so that it is pleasing to the eye. Use a good navigation bar on
either the left side or top and apply the text with proper formatting so that
it is easy to read. Most importantly, make sure the topics you really want the
user to find stand out in your navigation. This is key.
DONT'S
- Have many images on any page. This will cause your page to load slower for
users with weaker internet connections and deter people from looking at the
site. You want a fast loading site that is content heavy, images are not
content and search engines cannot see them.
- Forget to test everything at least once a week. Links change, Murphy's Law
is always in effect, and dead links and wrong information detract from the
visitors experience. You always want your site as up-to-date as possible.
- Spam the search engines or use another form of trickery. Eventually they
pick up on it and you will lose all your rankings and be blacklisted. It also
lowers the quality of any transactions going through your site.
- Be shy to ask for help. The forums and myself are out there as tools for
you. We want you to succeed, I love seeing my partners make loads of cash and
want to do anything I can to help you, so please ASK US!
March and April saw yet another affiliate break $20,000 with two others VERY close. Multiple affiliates also received big five-figure checks. Those affiliates used a mix of PPC and webpage design to get to the top and keep on growing.
Some of the fastest
growing affiliates within our program are using content related websites to
drive traffic to us. If you are designing your first site or have a few
already, take a look at the tip above it has some good information for you.
